A ‘connected home’ is one that has multi-room/zone audio/video capabilities. This allows the owner to control the source(s) from an ergonomic wall-mounted keypad or from a remote control. The system can be connected through cables run throughout the house, or it can be based on wireless technology if you prefer. It can be as simple as one source and zone that will play the same thing across the whole system and is controlled from one location, or as complex as a multiple source/multiple zone system with separate controls for each room. Video can also be transmitted through such a system, minimizing your need for sources (such as a DVD/Blu-ray player for each TV in the home). If you like the sound (no pun intended) of having whole house audio/video that is easily and conveniently controlled, then call CommTech right away!

Campus Design OSP
If you find yourself needing a network that spans multiple buildings, CommTech is standing by and ready to help you! An Outside Plant (OSP) employs cables run outside between buildings, whether they are run in underground conduit or through supportive structures above ground. There are a few choices you have when deciding on just how the cables will be run, but if you’re planning new construction, now is the time to contact CommTech! Underground conduit is easily installed while constructing, and is a great solution for inter-building connection. However, if you would like to add an OSP to your existing building, CommTech is more than ready to help you with this as well. CommTech has a variety of cables rated for the great outdoors, and we’ll find the most aesthetically pleasing aerial set-up for your needs.
The world is a different place than it was even ten years ago, and having easy access to internet is almost synonymous to having indoor plumbing. It isn’t just important in the business place, though; residences need access just as much. CommTech is extremely proficient in getting cables where they need to go, and we will work to ensure that your needs and wants are met to the best of our abilities. Contact CommTech today for a free quote on a cabling job, and never worry about connectivity again!
Fiber Optic/Copper Solutions
When it comes to your network, there are many options for how exactly you get data from one place to the next. Copper twisted-pair wire is usually more than enough for any residential project, resulting in a fast and reliable home network. There is also the choice of using fiber optic cable, which utilizes a glass core to transmit data in the form of pulses of light. This allows for higher speed data transfer with a much lower signal loss, as compared to copper wire. CommTech understands that options can sometimes be confusing, and we will advise you on the best course of action to take for your ideal network. Whatever your exact needs may be, CommTech is ready to help you.
The overall design of a network is extremely important to the success and reliability of said network. One must know exactly the path the cables need to take, the logistics of getting them there, the obstacles that stand in the way, and the accessibility of all the terminal drops along the way. Building staff (managers, IT personnel, etc.) must be coordinated with in order to assess all of those considerations. The proper components must be selected in the actual creation in order to meet the demands that will be placed on the network. CommTech can accurately assess your project and formulate a network that will meet all your needs. Our knowledgeable and experienced technicians are familiar with the ins and outs of network design, and they understand the importance of the minimum/maximum length and anti-interference requirements while pulling cable. Allow us to design your network, and rest easy knowing that CommTech is on the job.
Testing and Certification
Once CommTech is done installing your data cable system we will immediately test our work. Our Fluke systems cable testers tell us if the cable is carrying data properly and whether all the wires were terminated in the proper slots in their jacks. We do this at the end of the install so we can quickly assess and address any problems; we won’t call the job done until we are 100% sure that your new network will be fully functioning and useable once we leave. If any problems should arise, CommTech is a simple phone call away. We stand behind all our installs, and we work to make sure that you are happy with the job. With CommTech, you won’t have to worry about getting the run-around. “Until it’s fit, we won’t quit!” is not our slogan, but it sure could be.
